The Winter 1991/92, and final, issue of Telescope Making — “the magazine for, by, and about telescope makers” — features the following articles:
-“How To Build A Basic CCD Camera,” by Veikko Kanto and John E. Munger
-“Making Mirrors: The Art of Aluminizing,” by Peter Ceravolo
-“Sending Your Mirror off to be Aluminized: Some Do’s and Don’t’s,” by George Montierth
-“Coatings, Cosmetics and Guarantees,” by Peter Ceravolo
-“Aluminizing the Mirror of the 200-Inch Hale Telescope,” by Robert Thickstein
Telescope Making debuted in 1978 in response to Astronomy magazine readers’ demand for more information about how to build telescopes. In the premiere issue, Editor Richard Berry explained the magazine’s mission: “We see TM as a magazine that will help people share their ideas and learn from each other. ... You, and the telescopes you build, are its subject.” Telescope Making ran quarterly until 1992.
